Spicule treatments are non-invasive and quick. Using microscopic marine-bio-needles that gently stimulate skin rejuvenation & micro exfoliation from within. Because of this, the skin sensation afterward is very unique compared to a traditional facial.
Immediate Sensation: You may feel a tingly, prickly or sunburn-like sensation on the skin. This is completely normal and shows the spicules are working deep within your skin to activate renewal.
Texture & Touch: For 24-48hrs, your skin may feel slightly rough, dry & tight or sandy to the touch - almost like fine crystals on the surface. This is the spicules gradually working their way out as the skin renews.
Redness & Warmth: Mild redness or warmth can occur, similar to a skin needling or peel session. This usually subsides within 24-48hrs.
Tightness: Some clients describe a tight or dry feeling as the skin begins to shed old, damaged cells and reveal fresh, new skin underneath.
Results & Timeline: Within 3-7 days, the rough sensation eases and you'll notice a brighter, smoother, clearer complexion as cell turnover completes.
Reassurance: These sensations are temporary and a sign of the treatments effectiveness. They mean your skin is actively repairing and regenerating. Proper aftercare (hydration, gentle cleansing, SPF) will help your results shine through.
- For 3-5 days post treatment, avoid excessive sweating, swimming, steam, or direct sun exposure.
- Do not pick or scratch if any flaking occurs
- Use gentle, hydrating skincare and always apply SPF daily.
- Use when possible a mineral makeup.
- Avoid active ingredients (like retinol, AHAs or BHAs) until your skin is fully recovered, ie 3-5 days
- Keeping the skin moisturized will help support healing and results.
For optimal results, a series of treatments is recommended.
